The Body Model

The Body Model is an experimental project designed to provide immediate feedback on how your daily diet and exercise can affect the time taken to achieve a targeted weight loss.

About the Body Model:

The Body Model is a software program that simulates key aspects of the way the human body uses energy. While everyone is different, some characteristics have a substantial and predictable impact on the amount of energy that an individual may need to maintain normal body functioning.

How To:

By entering in your personal details, i.e. weight, age gender ect, what you have eaten, and how much exercise you have done, the software is able to estimate the amount of energy you may need in a day. It is then assumed that if you have taken in more energy that you have burned up in a day - you will gain weight. On the other side, if you have taken in less energy that you have burned up - it is assumed that you will lose weight.

Feedback is key:

As with any model, it is based on limited information. As such it cannot be relied upon to give exact advice on what is right for your personal circumstance. The model is only meant to give an early indication of the type of result that could be generally expected. However, the more information that is provided to us the more sophisticated we can make the model - so please if you would like to help us develop the model by testing it and providing feedback - please follow the link below.
